Making Lemonade Today!
Today is a Lemonade Day. Yep. Today is a Lemonade Day. Just like everyone else who has been dealt these “lemons,” today is a reminder to make that lemonade. Yes, today is a Lemonade Day! Take advantage of it!
Today I am not “confined at home.” I get the privilege of working out of my home, in the comfort of my office with my dogs and cat around me. I have a candle flickering, which just looks so peaceful and warm, even though the Texas temperatures are warm enough. I have Adelle crankin’ on my Pandora, as loud as I want, not fearful of a co-worker complaining or asking me to turn the tunes down.
Today I am not “isolated.” I had an early morning call with my heart-daughter, texted my Mom first thing to see if she’s up, have already had two video conference calls, sent out a hand-written, handmade sympathy card to a friend, and already have a Messenger video date night set with my step-son.
Today there are more can’s than cants. I “can” go to the grocery story. I “can” support a local restaurant through drive through, and tomorrow night we’ll do delivery, and the following night we’ll call-in and pick up from yet another restaurant. Today, I can support other stores via on-line shopping and helping to share out their small stores within my network.
Today I, personally, have been given the gift of time. With my world constantly on a 1000 MPH pace, I got what I asked for: time to slow down so I can enjoy my home, my pets and some much-needed time to take care of me and some tasks from my office. Guess what? I got it. Might not be in the way I envisioned, but I got the “time” I asked for. I am so blessed to have been given just that.
Today, I am so thankful and am mindful of exactly HOW blessed I am. Every one of those lemons I got delivered along with the rest of the world is gonna make some delish lemonade! Here’s to your lemons too!
Make it a Lemonade Day.
